Product Description
The ECM168 is a high performance PAS Amplifier Module offering excellent linearity. The internally matched multi-stage amplifier has 33.5 dB gain while achieving +34 dBm linear output power to meet PHS requirements of better than -65 dBc ACLR at a 600 kHz offset from the carrier.

The ECM168 uses a high reliability InGaP/GaAs HBT process technology and does not require any external matching components. The module has an added benefit by not require any negative biasing voltages; an internal active bias allows the ECM168 to maintain high linearity over temperature and operate directly off a single +10V supply. A low-cost metal housing allows the device to have a low thermal resistance and achieves over 100 years MTTF. All devices are 100% RF and DC tested. The ECM168 is targeted for use as a driver amplifier in wireless infrastructure where high linearity and high power is required. This combination makes the device an excellent candidate for next generation PAS base stations.

Recommended Application Circuit
Please note that for reliable operation, the evaluation board will have to be mounted to a much larger heat sink during operation and in laboratory environments to dissipate the power consumed by the device. The use of a convection fan is also recommended in laboratory environments.
